SmartKnit Seamless AFO & KAFO socks for children and adults with Ankle-Foot Orthotics and Knee-Ankle-Foot Orthotics.

Each patented SmartKnit sock is made the same way that a caterpillar spins its cocoon - starting at the toe and circling to the top, resulting in a seam-free, wrinkle-free sock that fits like a second layer of skin, provides exceptional softness, and wicks perspiration. Socks feature a “heel-less” design to ensure a perfect fit every time.

Each corespun sock is knit with Coolmax Polyester and Lycra. Navy, Pale Grey and Black socks also have added X-STATIC - the Silver Fibre for additional anti-microbial properties to inhibit bacteria for improved skin health and odour control.

SIZE SELECTION GUIDE: As the socks have no heel, sizing is quite flexible. A larger size can still be worn by someone with a smaller foot, but they will sit higher on the leg. To choose the correct sock size, measure from the tip of the big toe, along the top of the foot and up the leg to where you want the sock to sit (allowing extra if you want the sock folded over at the top). Refer to the sock measurements in the drop down menu.

FABRIC: 97.3% Coolmax polyester, 2.7% lycra. The unique, high-stretch core-spun yarn was developed by Knit-Rite, Inc. to wick moisture, 'hug' the body and minimise wrinkling and bunching.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS: Machine wash warm. Tumble dry medium. Non-chlorine bleach when needed.

    SmartKnit socks fulfill an important need that it is hard to find elsewhere on the market in Australia. As a person who wears leg braces (AFOs), these socks are easy to put on, control sweat in hot weather and breathe well for all day wear. They have been great in controlling friction points and other skin issues wearing AFO's can create. Their feature of being seemless is extremely important to my comfort and their stretchability while remaining strong, makes them easy to fold over the tops of my AFO's, making it impossible for them to slide down. Since being introduced to them by my Orthotosist, I prefer them over any other socks. I like the way they are finished at the tops as they avoid using a tight band but stay in place well. It is great that they come in women's sizes in the colour black.

    I've purchased these socks for years, they are the best I've found in the best part of 40 years of wearing AFOs. Perfect fit, no seams, no bunching, no sweating - just perfect and the supplier service is great too..

    We purchased one pair of these socks initially for our 2.5 year old son to wear under his AFO as we couldn’t find socks long enough and had had these socks recommended to us on a Cerebral Palsy Facebook page. We want to try one pair first before deciding to purchase more as they seemed expensive. Well after the first day, I was sold. They are the best. No rubbing, no sticking, no sweating, no bunching. Perfect. Worth every cent. I ordered a further 4 pairs, lucky, as the first thing my washing machine has ever decided to destroy, was one of the socks.

    My 5yo would not put his normal school socks on in the morning. It would be an hour of screaming and crying before he would put them on. I decided to try the seamless socks and they have worked wonders. He has to put them on how he likes them but this only takes a couple of minutes.

    I found these socks 10 months ago and they have been the greatest find. I have friends on to them now and all have had same reaction. so easy to get on, no imprints left on her legs. Love that they come in different colours too. Just about to purchase more.

    My son has been using the SmartKnit AFO socks for many years. As my son has very sensitive feet they are especially great as they fit perfectly, no bunching or rubbing. It Makes Sense are a great company to deal with and are very prompt, especially as I cannot buy these socks in our country town.

    I've finally found a pair of socks that my daughter wants to wear each day to school. Her only complaint is the length of the socks she prefers crew sock size and doesn't really like folded socks or crumpled socks. However I haven't had any complaints about seams or the knots on the toes.

    These are the only socks I buy for my son to wear with his AFOs. Stretchy, long, seamless & comfortable. I am very happy with them.
